variable-data - Fully Costomized Letters Automotive reminder letters were the first product I was tasked with creating for Newgen Results. The letters needed to be 100% digital and fully customizable. My first job was digitizing an Automotive Dealership’s original letter; scanning, tracing and redrawing whatever the Sales Manager brought me. Sometimes it was a poor copy of a copy. Sometimes it was just a business card. Once I had recreated the dealership letter digitally we needed to incorporate it into our Variable Date print stream where it merged with the dealership database to produce a reminder letter for the customer. The end result was a website that an Automotive Dealership would use that was fulfilled by Newgen. This involved spec’ing, purchasing and installing the needed hardware and software, hiring and training the staff and then creating the digital workflow to get the paper to the subscribers without them knowing anything had changed. I also was eventually tasked with creating the first web version of the journal and eventually a podcast.
